Samsung Galaxy A33 to feature IP67 rating for dust and water resistance: Report
In addition to the Galaxy S22 flagship, Samsung is also working on a bunch of Galaxy A series mid-rangers in early 2022. These include the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53. We’ve seen the Galaxy A33 and A53 in high-resolution renders earlier. And now, this upcoming Galaxy A33 will be water-resistant.
According to the latest info, the Galaxy A33 will be water and dust-resistant with IP67 certified like Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72, which means it can sink up to 30 minutes in 1 meter of water and is completely protected from dust.
In fact, IP rating is something people want to see in a headphone jack. Similar to the Galaxy A53, Samsung is also removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy A33 5G. And this is definitely not due to lack of space. The company is deliberately avoiding adding a small audio jack to push more customers towards its wireless earbuds.
Samsung has not released many mid-rangers without the 3.5mm headphone jack, with the Galaxy M52 5G this year and the Galaxy M40 being the major exceptions in 2019. However, the company is now preparing to add more devices to this list next year. Both the Galaxy A32 and Galaxy A52 have an audio port.
The report also suggests that Samsung will use membrane material and waterproof silicone to achieve water resistance and dust proofing. The membrane material is applied to the microphone and speaker. At the same time, rubberized silicone is used to protect the charging port.
The Galaxy 33 may come with has a 6.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a Dimension 720 single-chip system, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Out of the box, the device runs Android 11-based One UI 3.1.

Tri-fold concept previously showcased a device having screens on three sides. The phone will have two hinges, allowing users to expand all three displays. The current foldable features a single hinge in the middle, offering a tablet-like screen size.

Durability still remains the main concern in this kind of innovative device. Foldable phones launched by Samsung and Huawei are gradually entering the mainstream. However, consumers still refrain from preferring foldable as their next upgrade.
Huawei’s tri-fold could remain a China-exclusive product. Samsung may also come up with its tri-fold handset in the near future. The Display department has worked enough on the panel, but the Mobile division hasn’t yet approved development.
