- Permission info at a glance
See when each app accesses sensitive permissions such as Location, Camera, or Microphone in Permission usage. You can deny permissions for any apps you don’t feel comfortable with. - Camera and microphone indicators
Keep prying eyes and ears away. A green dot will appear in the upper right corner of the screen when any app is using the camera or microphone. You can also use quick panel controls to temporarily block all apps from using the camera or microphone. - Approximate location
Keep your exact location private. You can set apps that don’t need to know exactly where you are to only have access your general area. - Clipboard protection
Keep your passwords, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information safe. You can choose to receive an alert whenever an app accesses content copied to the clipboard in another app.

Camera
Enjoy a simpler layout while you take pictures and videos. The scene optimizer button only appears in Photo mode if there’s low light or you’re scanning a document. Portrait and Night mode settings are now tucked away and more intuitive.

Lens icons show the magnification level, so you know how much you’re zoomed in. - Video that never misses a moment
Recording starts immediately after you tap the Record button, instead of when you release it, so that you catch those precious moments before they’re gone. In Photo mode, you can touch and hold the Shutter button to start recording a quick video, then drag your finger to the Lock icon to continue recording without holding down the Shutter. - Keep your single takes going
Add 5 seconds of extra time to Single take captures so you don’t miss a moment even if it goes into overtime. It’s also easier to select what you want to capture. - Pro photography
Stay in control with the redesigned Pro and Pro video mode settings. The cleaner look helps you focus on the shot, and the new level indicators added to the grid lines help you keep shots balanced. - Enhanced scanning

Have a friend on the other side of the world? It’s easier to see if it’s a good time to contact them. The dual clock widget now shows different background colors for each city depending on whether it’s day or night.
- Switch from texts to calls
Texting not cutting it? Tap the person’s name at the top of the conversation to see their details or start a voice or video call.

Now you can search your messages for photos, videos, web links, and more. The results are all filtered so you can jump right to what you’re looking for.

More apps are resizable in Samsung DeX, so you can multitask and get more done throughout the day. You can also change the touchpad scrolling direction in DeX settings to match your personal preference.

Samsung brings huge energy-saving opportunity to New York
New York became the first US state to bring retail consumer rebates for appliances under the Inflation Reduction Act. Applauding the move, Samsung launched a huge energy-saving opportunity for the residents of New York.
Samsung started offering up-front discounts to consumers statewide through New York’s IRA HEAR program. Consumers can now access IRA’s Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) program.

OpenAI eyes AI integration on Samsung phones like Apple Intelligence
Apple collaborated with OpenAI to power Apple Intelligence features. The ChatGPT maker continues to create obstacles for Google. In a recent move, OpenAI discussed a potential AI partnership with Samsung.
TheInformation (via Reuters) reported that OpenAI has recently discussed powering AI features on Samsung-made devices. It seems the ChatGPT-maker wishes an AI partnership with Samsung to expand its reach in multiple folds.
The company is considering developing a web browser to rival Google’s Chrome. OpenAI recently introduced its search engine called SearchGPT. It is available to limited users alongside internal testers and strategic partners.
Samsung x OpenAI
Samsung and Google’s close partnership doesn’t need any elaboration. The friendship isn’t limited to services, as both firms work across an ecosystem. However, it doesn’t stop Samsung from partnering with OpenAI in favor of better service.
