Samsung Annual Shareholders Meeting

Samsung‘s recent issues include reducing phone and device performance on some models and removing it from the Geekbench. At a shareholder meeting on March 16, the company identified performance issues with the Game Optimization Service (GOS) and addressed issues with sub-5nm process foundry yield rates.

According to DigiTimes, JH Han, CEO of Samsung’s Device Experience, and Keihyun Kyung, CEO of Devices Solutions, were in the hot seat, with Han referring to slower yield rates for GOS and Kyung. Han apologized and acknowledged that the company did not understand the importance of consumer concerns about game processing speed.

Meanwhile, Kyung said in his address that the company was working on the issue of process yield rates for sub-5 nm chips – but as he explained, making chips in the foundry is very complex and offers a lot of complexity. It will take more time to make all the necessary improvements.

Samsung Annual Shareholders Meeting

As per the DigiTimes reports, Samsung’s foundry currently pays only 35% for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 used in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 +, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Chip

If the foundry problems continue, Samsung’s rival Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which has a better yield rate, could potentially buy Qualcomm’s business. That size has not yet been determined.
