The patient application suggets that the upcoming Samsung wearable will come with an optical blood flow measurement sensor (PPG) and an electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor to measure blood pressure and heart rate.

That’s not it, to differentiate the smart ring from other brands, the Korean company has added a couple of additional features. These features are likely to allow users to control connected devices, such as laptops, smartphones, and smart TVs.

The information further reveals that the wearable could also support other health and fitness tracking features that can be found on Galaxy Watch 5. And, these include temperature sensing, sleep tracking, and SpO2 monitoring. However, there is no official documentation suggesting such features.

Moving ahead, the smart ring is likely to offer better battery life compared to the company’s smartwatches as it doesn’t have any display. The smart ring might not overtake the smartwatches in the market, however, can easily replace smart bands.

At this time, there is no information about the launch timeline of the upcoming device. Naver claims that it’s in the early stages of development, therefore, it will take time to reach the market.

Samsung SmartThings September 2024 update

Samsung has released a new update for the Galaxy Wearable app, which enhances its user interface and overall functionality. This app helps you manage your wearable devices and track their features right from your phone.

The latest update introduces a new look for the Watch settings interface. The new layout allows for quicker navigation and better access to your favorite settings as the update brings major changes.

Previously, options like watch faces, apps, tiles, and quick settings were shown in a vertical grid, which could feel crowded. Now, they are arranged in a horizontal bar, making it simpler to find what you need.

In addition to the revamped Watch Setting interface, the update also adds a feature to provide a preview of important menu items. Users can now see Notifications, Display, Health, and Pay right under the Watch Settings tab.

By this change, you can easily glance at key options without searching through multiple menus, which adds to the convenience.

Furthermore, the update also brings One UI 6 Watch Faces for older Galaxy smartwatch models. The app’s Watch Faces section added a new “Featured watch faces” tab that lets you download the One UI 6 Watch faces.

Overall, these enhancements improve the experience for Galaxy smartwatch users. You can get the most out of your device with a more organized interface and easy access to essential features.

The new update is available for download through the Galaxy Wearable app and the Galaxy Store. Users are advised to install the update promptly to benefit from the new features and improvements.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Samsung made One UI 6 Watch Faces available for Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch 4 series. The company will soon release a major One UI 6 Watch update powered by the new Wear OS 5 operating system.

The latest Galaxy Wearable app introduced One UI 6 Watch Faces for older Galaxy smartwatch models. The app’s Watch Faces section added a new “Featured watch faces” tab that lets you download the One UI 6 Watch faces.

You can simply hit the newly added Featured watch faces section. You will get three new watch faces listed entitled Spatila Number, Simple Digital, and Ultra Info Board. These watch faces are provided free from the Galaxy Store.

Once you hit the Download button, a notice will appear. The notice tells the requirement of your consent to access Body sensors such as heart rate monitors. Now, give your consent by hitting Allow and install to start downloading the watch face.

I have tried the Spatial Number watch face on my Galaxy Watch 4. It gives a pretty new appearance and has a lot of in-face customization options. You can customize the color, background, on-screen components, and so on.

Previously, we shared a trick to install Pixel Watch 3 faces on your Galaxy Watch. Unlike that, the One UI 6 Watch faces installation is quite easy. You don’t need to follow any tricky steps as Samsung itself offers you the faces.

One UI 6 Watch is expected to be rolled out next month. The Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra come pre-loaded with the new software. Samsung is preparing to begin rollout for older models including the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5 and Watch 6 series.

Apple Watch series 10

Apple has just announced the Apple Watch Series 10 at the “It’s Glowtime” event. The new model comes with a fresh design that hasn’t been updated since 2021. The Watch Series 10 features a thinner design and a larger display. It’s a strong competitor against Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch 7.

Apple Watch Series 10 launches with several notable enhancements. It supports fast charging, so you can get up to 80% battery in just 30 minutes. Now, you don’t have to wait long for your watch to be ready to go.

Moreover, the Watch Series 10 Titanium design integrates a new built-in speaker, which allows users to play music or podcasts directly from their wrist. It also has better water resistance and is certified for high-speed water sports up to 20 meters deep. It means that the watch can handle more intense water activities and includes the Depth app, which was previously only available on the Ultra models.

Following Galaxy Watch 7, the Watch Series 10 now includes the ability to detect sleep apnea. This is a condition where your breathing stops and starts while you sleep. The watch tracks your sleep patterns and can identify signs of sleep apnea if you wear it every night for a few days. This feature works similarly to the new Vitals app in watchOS 11.

Apple Watch Series 10 will be available for pre-order from September 13 and officially release on September 20. The starting price is $399 for the 44mm version. With these advancements, the Series 10 is set to challenge the Galaxy Watch 7, offering a range of new improvements.
