Samsung debuted the January 2023 security patch on the 2nd day of the month, starting with the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. The latest security patch brought new security improvements for CVE items discovered throughout December and some from the past.

Well, Samsung officially shared details of what’s inside the January 2023 security patch for Galaxy devices including phones and tablets. According to the official firmware updates page, the company mentioned all the CVEs and SVEs fixed by Google and Samsung, respectively.

Samsung January 2023 security patch brings fixes for 0 critical, 52 high, and 0 moderate levels of CVEs. In addition, the support page mentions 3 bugs have already been fixed in the previous security patch, while all CVEs are applicable on your Galaxy device.

One UI – 5.0, 5.1

Last month, Samsung almost finished the major Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update rollout for Galaxy phones and tablets. All eligible Galaxy devices have started to receive the major OS upgrade, while, the availability may vary by carrier and country/region.

January 2023 is a crucial month for Samsung as it’s going to introduce the Galaxy S23 flagship lineup next month. After the Unpacked event, the company will shift its gears on shipments, however, the devices may have been getting the finishing touches.

Samsung has released a new update with the November 2024 security patch for Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones. The update is available for users in Korea and the company will soon expand it to more countries.

The fresh security patch fixes 52 vulnerabilities in Android and Samsung software. Google has patched 38 high-level issues, and one CVE doesn’t apply to Galaxy devices. Samsung has also addressed 13 issues, including bugs related to multiple users, Dex Mode, Galaxy Watch, and Settings.
