Samsung AR Emoji Editor app update

Samsung AR Emoji Editor app lets Galaxy devices users create and customize their 3D avatars. At the moment, Samsung is improving the AR Emoji Editor app performance through a new update that adds a new accessibility feature support – Talkback.

The Talkback feature provides spoken feedback for users who are visually impaired or have low vision. It helps them navigate the device and interact with apps using gestures, voice commands, and keyboard shortcuts. Talkback can also read aloud text, buttons, icons, and other elements on the screen.

With the latest update, AR Emoji Editor now supports Talkback, which means that users who rely on this feature can now create and edit their 3D avatars more easily and comfortably.

To use Samsung AR Emoji Editor with Talkback, you need to enable Talkback first from Settings >> Accessibility >> TallBack. Then, you can open the app from the AR Zone or the Camera app and follow the instructions on the screen. You can also use voice commands or keyboard shortcuts to perform actions such as taking a selfie, choosing a face style, selecting clothes and accessories, saving or deleting an avatar, etc.

Besides adding Talkback support, the update also fixes some errors that were not specified in the changelog. The update has version number 5.2.00.10 and a size of about 175 MB, so you can install it via Galaxy Store or download it directly from the link mentioned here.

WhatsApp blue tick verification

WhatsApp is updating its verification badges by replacing the green tick with a new blue one. This change is currently being tested with beta users on the Google Play Beta Program.

The new blue tick is a symbol of authenticity for verified channels and businesses on WhatsApp. By matching with the color scheme used on other Meta platforms like Instagram and Facebook, WhatsApp aims to make it easier for users to recognize official accounts.

This enhancement not only improves visuals but also strengthens security by providing a clear marker of verified authenticity. The switch from green to blue provides a secure environment and aligns WhatsApp appearance with other Meta services.

WhatsApp users who have installed the latest beta version 2.24.14.18 can check the blue checkmark on the official channels. This feature will gradually rollout to more beta testers in the coming days.

However, with the latest update, certain icons have been removed from the selection, causing disappointment among users.

A user posted on the Samsung Community expressing disappointment that the update no longer supports his favorite icons, and fixes them on the screen like a photo on a gray background. The user also pointed out that the updated selection does not have the same shape options.

In response, a Samsung community moderator acknowledged this concern and explained that the new update had removed some of the NavStar icons. The removed icons will not return with the NavStar update and are no longer supported.
