Samsung could launch its own developed generative AI chatbot in October 2023. A trusted tipster recently claimed the company’s plan, in which it will unveil its own GPT.

After encountering concerns like sensitive data leakage, Samsung’s semiconductor decision banned the usage of generative AI chatbot solutions such as Open AI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Bing, and Google’s Bard.

Later, officials revealed that the company is working on the development of an in-house generative AI chatbot for internals and employees. However, it might also come to general consumers through Galaxy devices.

Apart from the expected debut, @Tech_Reve noted that it’s unknown whether Samsung’s GPT will be available to public or not. For general users, Samsung might introduce solution to its Internet browser as an add-on or Plugin.

James is the lead content creator on Sammy Fans and mostly works on Samsung's firmware section. His first phone was the Galaxy S4 and continues to get new S series devices. Most of the time, James tries to learn about new technologies and gadgets but he also sneaks a bit of free time to nearby rivers and nature.

One UI 8 could release sooner if this Android 16 rumor comes true

One UI 7 Launch

Google and Samsung are yet to release Android 15 and One UI 7 Beta for Pixel and Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, a new rumor suggests Android 16 could come sooner than expected, indicating an early One UI 8 arrival too.

According to AndroidAuthority, Google could release the next Android in Q2 2025. If Android 16 debuts months ahead of the usual timeframe, other vendors could also speed up their device optimization, such as Galaxy’s One UI 8.

In addition to the release, the report also talks about the codename of the next OS. Mishaal believes the Android 16 looks to be codenamed “Baklava.” Android 15 was “vanilla ice cream” or “VIC” and Android 16 is rumored to be codenamed “Baklava.”

  • Baklava is a flaky pastry associated with Armenian, Greek, Iranian, Turkish, and other cuisines.

While Android 15 coming in mid-October 2024, Google released Android 14 on October 4, 2023, Android 13 on August 15, 2022, Android 12 on October 4, 2021, Android 11 on September 8, 2020, and Android 10 on September 3, 2019.

As One UI completely relies on Android, delay and early arrival are also dependent. Android 16 release in the second quarter would be unusual for Google, which usually releases major Android versions in August, September, or October.

It’s crazy to talk about One UI 8 when we don’t have any sign of One UI 7 Beta. Samsung is continuously testing the new version. Meanwhile, the company has missed its usual August release timeframe, and September also ended.

Samsung will hold this year’s Developer Conference on October 3. We expect important announcements regarding the One UI 7 and One UI 6 Watch for Galaxy users. Beta Program is coming or not – would also be confirmed.

Samsung launches Galaxy Watch’s Irregular Heart Rhythm feature in Taiwan

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Plugin September 2024 update

Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Watch’s Irregular heart rhythm notification feature in Taiwan. Samsung’s Health Monitor app has received approval from Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration for its irregular heart rhythm feature.

Irregular heart rhythm feature is now officially available in Taiwan, supporting Galaxy Watch 4 series and later models, as well as Samsung smartphones running Android 9 Pie or later operating systems.

After software updates, this feature, when combined with the app’s existing manual ECG detection function, can actively track heart rhythms related to atrial fibrillation (AFib) from the wearer’s wrist, helping users build a healthier lifestyle.

Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and atrial fibrillation is a type of irregular heartbeat widely considered a warning sign of serious cardiovascular problems.

It can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other cardiovascular complications. However, since some cases of atrial fibrillation have no symptoms or even no signs, many patients are unaware of their risk.

Samsung Galaxy Watch is equipped with precise BioActive sensors, allowing users to gain a deeper understanding of their health. The One UI 6 Watch update is pending, which could land on your watch in October or November.

After activating the Health Monitor app, this feature will use sensors to check for abnormal heart rhythms and promptly alert users to potential AFib activity, reminding them to conduct an ECG check using their watch for more accurate data.
