One UI 7 will introduce separate notification settings for AOD and Lock screen

One UI 7 AOD notification settings

Samsung is gearing up to release One UI 7 Beta update for Galaxy devices soon. Along with several new features, One UI 7 will bring some exciting updates for managing notifications on the Always-On Display (AOD) and lock screen.

Recently, a user raised concerns about not being able to remove notification icons from the AOD on the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone. Even after trying to customize them using Good Lock’s LockStar feature, the notification icon still displays on AOD.

Currently, the settings for notifications on the AOD and lock screen are linked on Galaxy S24 smartphones. This means any changes to the lock screen notifications also affect the AOD.

Many users have found this frustrating because they want to customize their AOD separately but have faced difficulties doing so.

Fortunately, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and the community moderator has apologized for the problems caused by the persistent notification icons remaining the same as before the LockStar AOD edit.

The good news is that with the One UI 7 update, Samsung will offer separate settings for notifications on the AOD and lock screen. This means users will finally have the ability to customize each screen individually. You can choose which notifications to show or hide on your AOD without affecting the lock screen, but only after the next OS update.

As Samsung prepares to roll out One UI 7 Beta, users can look forward to a more personalized experience that meets their needs. The One UI Beta Program will let users enjoy new features ahead of a stable release. Stay tuned for more information.
