Samsung One UI 7 Keyboard update

Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 based on Android 15 will offer several new features and improvements for Galaxy devices. A new report suggests that One UI 7 is set to enhance the user experience of Samsung tablets, especially for those using keyboard accessories.

Android 15 update focuses on making tablets more functional and desktop-like. In the past, Android updates have improved the overall functionality of tablets, and One UI 7 continues this trend.

Google has recently introduced the “Tap Dragging” gesture, which simplifies the process of dragging and dropping items. Previously, users needed to press and hold the trackpad to move files. Now, they can tap an item and then drag it by keeping their finger on the touchpad.

In addition to the Tap Dragging gesture, the update introduces enhanced touchpad settings. The new customization features make the Galaxy Tabs more convenient and useful for individual needs.

With the enhanced Settings, users can customize various touchpad gestures, enable options such as tap-to-click and reverse scrolling, and adjust pointer speed. These options are accessible via Settings >> System >> Touchpad.

Samsung One UI 7 update is expected to improve the Keyboard accessories for Galaxy tablets, aiming to make them more versatile and convenient for daily tasks.

Google Pixel phones will receive the Stable Android 15 update in mid-October. The latest OS remained limited to the Pixel devices till I/O 2024. There’s no info on when Samsung will debut its Android 15 Beta Program — One UI 7 — for Galaxy devices.

Following the I/O 2024 event, Android vendors including Xiaomi, OPPO, and OnePlus started Public Beta for their flagships, which Samsung has not joined. The company is still working on kicking off the One UI Beta program.

Samsung XCover 5 One UI 6.1 update

Samsung is actively working to roll out the One UI 6.1.1 update for all eligible Galaxy devices. In the meantime, the company hasn’t overlooked the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, which is now receiving the One UI 6.1 update. Though this major update was delayed, users of this rugged smartphone can finally take advantage of several new features.

Right now, the One UI 6.1 update for Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is available in South Korea and it may take a few days or weeks to reach other countries. Users can identify this update by the build number G525NKXUAEXI1.

One UI 6.1 update introduces features for photo and video management, including AI editing suggestions and image copying. Users get new lock screen widgets, customizable alarm alerts, and sticker support in the Calendar app.

Moreover, the update enhances data security with improved Samsung Cloud services and introduces Passkey for quicker sign-ins. Additional enhancements have been made to the Finder, battery settings, weather widget, Health app, and more.

To install the One UI 6.1 update on your smartphone, go to Settings and scroll to the Software Update section. Open it and select ‘Download and Install’ to apply the update if it’s available.

One UI 6.1 is likely to be the last major feature update for the Galaxy XCover 5. It seems that most mid-range Galaxy devices will directly update from One UI 6.1 to the upcoming One UI 7.0, skipping One UI 6.1.1.
