One UI 6.0 Key Changes and Features – Quick Panel, Emojis, Typeface, AI Studio and more
Samsung’s One UI 6.0 software has a wide range of new features and changes for Galaxy smartphone users. While the availability is capped to the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung fans having older Galaxy models are in the queue. The upgrade to One UI 6.0 has various notable changes, with some of them explained below.

UI Tweaks, One UI Sans and Quick Panel:
In One UI 6, Samsung tweaked many elements to create a more modern look and feel, such as the impactful new default font, One UI Sans, and new emojis in the stock Keyboard app. Also, the Quick Panel has been revamped with an updated layout that makes it effortless for users to access the most used toggles.
It is easier than ever to adjust screen visibility on the go as the brightness control bar is available by default in the compact Quick Panel. Besides, there is also a new instant access option to the full Quick Panel, accessible with a single downward swipe at the upper right corner of the screen.

Samsung’s Android 14 skin is packed with great new ways for users to customize the Galaxy experience. For instance, it is now possible to set different lock screens according to specific Modes and Routines, such as a calming photo of a forest in Sleep Mode.
There is also a new custom camera widget, which lets users preselect a camera mode and a storage location — like portrait mode and a folder just for headshots. Samsung Studio allows users to check the time of multiple videos at a glace through multi-layers, and easily adjust the location or section of decorative elements.

The Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update equips robust security and privacy. Users with a wider knowledge of security will appreciate Auto Blocker (read more), which enables basic device usage while blocking advanced, mostly unused features.
Knox Matrix supports end-to-end encryption for both synced data and cloud backup. A light version of Knox Vault will also be applied to the Galaxy A Series once One UI 6.0 becomes available on the series. Meanwhile, Passkey allows safer and easier sign-ins to apps and websites.

Samsung’s Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) taskforce is a reconnaissance unit within Project Infinity along with the Red (RED), Blue (BLUE), and Purple (PURPLE) Teams, which go beyond lab conditions to identify real-world dangers.
- RED and BLUE perform proactive attack and defense functions, seeking out vulnerabilities and taking measures against them.
- PURPLE is a special operations unit that acts as both a sword and shield for specific critical areas.
It’s worth noting that Samsung has deployed RED, BLUE, and PURPLE teams in various countries including Vietnam, Poland, Ukraine and Brazil. CTI is dedicated to identifying potential threats and stopping hackers from taking control of your device.
“Once we spot these kinds of threats, we collaborate with developers and operators to lock everything down for preventing attacks,” said Ranger, a CTI member.
