Samsung revealed that it brought Galaxy PassKey to the Samsung Pass app with One UI 6.0 update. This feature allows Galaxy users to safely store passkeys created in apps or websites. It offers secure passkey authentication with just one fingerprint authentication.

Over the past few months, various authenticator platforms as well as Google promoted the advantages of PassKey. Accordingly, Samsung is here to give users the convenience of using Galaxy PassKey, available on Galaxy devices running One UI 6.0.

The South Korean tech giant also announced that the security of the passkey has been further developed by supporting the safe synchronization of the saved passkey between the user’s multiple devices through “Samsung Knox Matrix.”

Samsung Galaxy PassKey

PassKey is a digital credential that replaces the account and password required for authentication of websites and apps with biometric authentication, so passwords are no longer required. It can replace existing passwords more safely through a new concept of logging in to various websites and apps.

How the passkey works

Easy and fast login: Users no longer need to enter their ID and password. PassKey allows you to log in using biometric authentication instead of a password, so you can log in to websites and apps as quickly and easily as unlocking your phone with your fingerprint.

Easy registration and setup: Once you register the passkey, you can use it as if you were using it on the original device even when you change the device. Even if you change devices, your passkey will move to the new device with you, so you don’t have to reset all your passwords.

Safe user protection: Imagine a lock that can only be opened with a key that can never be copied or stolen by others. PassKey only works on websites and apps that users have registered for, and it keeps users safe from phishing attacks that try to steal passwords.

Gboard font switcher feature

Gboard has rolled out a font switcher feature in its latest beta version that lets users customize the font. It is a popular keyboard app for Android users and the fresh update makes it more reliable and user-friendly.

The font switcher feature of the Gboard app allows users to customize their typing experience. It can be found under the Settings menu, specifically in Preferences >> Appearance, where users will see a new Font menu.

The font switcher menu has two options – Gboard default and System default. The Gboard default option uses Google Sans Text, while the System default remains Roboto. Interestingly, even though the system-wide font on Pixel is Google Sans Text, the change only affects the keys you see in Gboard.

Gboard font switcher feature

Currently, this font switcher is available in the latest beta version 14.7 of the Gboard app for Pixel and Samsung devices. However, it hasn’t yet been released in the stable version, so it may take days or weeks to reach all users. The beta version suggests that Google is still testing the feature before making it widely available.

This new feature is useful for those who want to personalize their keyboard experience. As Gboard continues to improve, this new feature could get even more customization options in future updates to enhance the overall experience for Android users.
